Completely stupid. If you want to use this TV with headphones you have two choices - plug the audio out into an amp, then the headphones into the amp. Or get a left-right RCA to mini-jack cable and plug directly into your headphones. I have purchased 2 low end HDTVs recently and what I notice most are lack of functions or ease of functions and the low speed of channel selection.
